Supporting the Future of Academic Obstetrics and Gynecology

AAOGF welcomes Dr. Floor J. Backes and Dr. BJ Rimel as its newest scholars. Dr. Backes received the 2020 GOG Foundation/AAOGF mentored Clinician Scientist Award and Dr. Rimel received the 2020 GOG Foundation/AAOGF Clinician Scientist Award.

The AAOGF and the Foundations of ABOG and SMFM seek to identify future academic physician leaders in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology and to stimulate their scholarly development, through the support of advanced scientific training. The Scholarship Award is to be used in an academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the United States or Canada to provide research training and experience for a candidate of proven ability who exhibits significant talent, original thought and evidence of dedication to an academic career. Research training may focus on basic or translational research, disease pathogenesis, clinical diagnostics, interventions and prevention, or epidemiology.

Rajkovic Elected to NAM

Aleksandar Rajkovic, M.D., Ph.D., was elected to the National Academy of Medicine as announced on October 19, 2020. Dr. Rajkovic was an AAOGF-RSDP Scholar from 1999-2002 when he was at Baylor College of Medicine. READ MORE

Secord Awarded Kay Yow Cancer Fund

Angeles Alvarez Secord MD, MHSc, a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University and Director of Gynecologic Oncology Clinical Trials was recently awarded the Kay Yow Cancer Fund in partnership with the V Foundation for Cancer Research for her project, “Endometrial Cancer Molecularly Targeted Therapy Consortium.”  READ MORE
