Q: Must applicants hold a specific degree to be eligible for AAOGF funding?
A: Applicants for all funding opportunities available from AAOGF must have been awarded an M.D. (or D.O.).
AAOGF and Burroughs Wellcome Fund Physician-Scientist Career Development Award to Promote Diversity
Q: I am considering applying for the most recent AAOGF and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund for a Physician-Scientist Career Development Award to Promote Diversity for an early-stage investigator from under-represented groups of color. I completed my OB/GYN residency in 2010, and completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Infectious Diseases in 2013. Do I go by the residency completion date or Fellowship date?
A: For the purpose of this award, early-stage investigators are defined as “investigators who, at the time of application, have completed their residency and/or fellowship within the past 10 years and have not obtained substantial NIH research funding”.
Bridge Grant
Q: Are PhD researchers in an Ob/Gyn department eligible to apply for Bridge Grant Funding?
A: Applicants must have been awarded an M.D. (or D.O.) to be eligible for this award.
